With a Bachelor of Visual Arts and a Master of Arts Management under her belt, Felicity has had numerous solo and group shows and in 2012 won a Brunswick Street Gallery Acquisitive Prize in its annual Small Works Exhibition. Felicity’s practice is heavily influenced by her immediate surroundings and since moving from Melbourne several years ago her work has transitioned from dark architectural works to bright landscapes. Felicity works in various mediums, including a transfer print technique, which she works over in pen and markers. She also works in collage, acrylic and gouache. For Felicity, the creative process is more satisfying than seeing the finished artwork. Felicity is also a qualified Art Therapist offering private art therapy sessions to clients. Combining her artist training and a Master of Therapeutic Art Practice, Felicity guides people of all artistic skill levels to engage with materials and creatively connect with their emotions. Felicity was instrumental in the establishment of Mansfield Arts Collective Studios and believes the studio facility provides an invaluable opportunity for artists to collaborate and share ideas. She is excited to also be able to share her process with the public and encourages everyone to visit the studios and spend some time with all the artists.

Cécile Berger is an encaustic artist, who uses beeswax, damar resin, pigment, and heat to build layer upon layer of molten wax to a variety of surfaces. The subject of her work varies from representational landscapes to more ethereal abstracts. All her pieces are very tactile and often she encourages the viewer to touch the surface to further experience the charm of the encaustic. Back to Artists Resident Artist Profile Encaustic Artist Cecile Burger Follow Cécile Berger is an encaustic artist, who uses beeswax, damar resin, pigment, and heat to build layer upon layer of molten wax to a variety of surfaces. The subject of her work varies from representational landscapes to more ethereal abstracts. All her pieces are very tactile and often she encourages the viewer to touch the surface to further experience the charm of the encaustic. Cécile had been experimenting with various art mediums and styles until she discovered international artists creating luminous art with molten wax. She immediately fell in love with seeing through the smooth or textural layers of wax and discovering the earlier marks made, colours used, or embedded materials below. The immense creative potential of the various techniques that can be applied using wax, and the ability for other media and materials to be incorporated was a huge drawcard for Cécile. She says one of the most exciting things about working with wax is using a blow torch or heat gun to push the boundaries of what wax can do.

Jennifer has been drawing, painting, and creating art since she was a child and draws inspiration from the world around her - finding beauty in Australian landscapes, flowers, and animals. In school, she studied art creating major works for her HSC in Sydney. Jennifer went on to study nursing, becoming an RN specialising in pediatrics. Her job took her to many different places and she particularly enjoyed participating in art therapy with her young patients. Working in Broken Hill, far west NSW, Jennifer joined the Willyama Art Society, with members such as Pro Hart and Jack Absolom. She learned a lot from these skilled artists and was privileged to exhibit alongside at the Broken Hill Art Gallery. Jennifer works mostly in oils, but loves the way that she can mix the paint on the board and blend colours as she paints. She says Mansfield provides so much inspiration - from the rivers to the high country. The colours are so vibrant and beautiful.

Melb Cup Weekend, 2nd & 3rd Nov 2024 | Mansfield MOST Mansfield 2024 Arts Mansfield are proud supporters and sponsors of the Mansfield Open Studio Trail (MOST). MOST is a FREE annual event held on the Melbourne Cup weekend which celebrates community, creativity, and our beautiful High Country. Time & Location Melb Cup Weekend, 2nd & 3rd Nov 2024 Mansfield, Mansfield VIC 3722, Australia About the event Discover. Explore. Admire. Arts Mansfield are proud supporters and sponsors of the Mansfield Open Studio Trail (MOST). MOST is a FREE annual event held on the Melbourne Cup weekend which celebrates community, creativity, and our beautiful High Country. Visitors can explore Mansfield Shire on a self-guided tour, discovering the artists of our region. WHEN: Sat 2nd and Sun 3rd November 2024, from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm each day. The MOST Arts Trail is an opportunity for the public to gain an insight into the workings of a studio, see practical demonstrations, view, and purchase artworks directly from the studio door and maker. There are a wide variety of art mediums and practices represented, such as painting, drawing, ceramics, mosaic, recycled art, photography, fluid art, textiles, digital art, sculpture, steel art, and print making. This concept was originally the idea of well-known local artist, Wendy Jagger , who has been opening her own studio since 2010 on the Melbourne Cup Weekend. Wendy says that after experiencing visitors’ interest in her work during her open studios, and having been involved in the Dandenong Ranges open studios in the past, she really wanted to gather a network of artists together to create an exciting event in her adopted home town of Mansfield. And so MOST came into being. 2024 will be the sixth edition of MOST. It has evolved from 4 artists in 2019 to 30 artists in 2024. MOST are continuing to grow and welcome you to join the journey.
